The Trail dos Descobrimentos returns on May 24, 2026, in Belmonte, offering a unique experience combining sport, nature, and personal challenge. Organized by the Belmonte City Hall, this 5th edition features three races for all levels, from the demanding Long Trail to the relaxing Walk.

The start is at Carvalhal Formoso, finishing at the iconic Belmonte Castle, showcasing stunning views of Serra da Estrela and Beira Interior. The routes mainly follow trails and dirt roads, well marked, perfectly blending nature and history.

• 15:00–19:00 — Race office open Sunday, May 24:
• 07:00 — Race office opens
• 08:15 — Race office closes and transport to start
• 09:00 — Long Trail/Sprint start
• 09:10 — Youth/Mini Trail start
• 09:20 — Walk start
• 13:00 — Lunch and awards

🎽 Registration includes Bib with chip, bag/backpack, lunch ticket, event t-shirt (optional), neck gaiter, brochures, museum voucher, insurance, food and drink stations, finisher medal, access to changing rooms.

🏆 Prizes Trophies for top 3 overall and age groups M/F in Long Trail/Sprint and Youth/Mini Trail. Finisher medal for all. No competitive prizes for Walk.
