The Cávado Half Marathon is a running event organized by Amigos da Montanha, supported by the municipalities of Barcelos and Esposende. In 2026, it takes place on April 12, alternating start and finish locations between these two cities, celebrating the region's tradition, culture, and sporting spirit.

The course passes through riverside, seaside, and rural areas, offering a unique experience combining nature, heritage, and local hospitality. The main race is a 21 km half marathon, accompanied by a 10 km mini marathon and an 8 km walk, suitable for different levels and ages.

• Walk – 8 km · Start 09:30 (Esposende) · Cutoff 2h · Open to all ages

• 09:30 – Mini Marathon and Walk start (Rua Santa Maria dos Anjos, Esposende)
• 10:00 – Half Marathon start (Av. da Liberdade, Barcelos)
• Finish and course closure at Rua Santa Maria dos Anjos, Esposende
