🚵‍♂️ Kaxtrail Mountain Race 2026 On October 24, 2026, the Kaxtrail Mountain Race takes place in Erratzu, Baztán, Navarra. This 45 km trail race with 2800 m elevation gain honors Xabier Rekarte “Kaxtel” on the 10th anniversary of his passing.

Organized by the local community of Erratzu, this event offers a challenging route through stunning northern Baztán landscapes (Gorramendi, Urritzate, Iparla, Auza, and Burga). Start and finish are at Erratzu’s main square.

There are two race formats: individual 45 km and mixed relay teams of two, each running half the course. A mountain walk option is also available for those who want to enjoy nature at a relaxed pace.

The course is well marked and participants must follow the official route, respecting environmental rules. The race is semi-self-sufficient; no cups at aid stations, so runners must carry their own water container and cup.

• Oct 23, 19:00-21:00 – Bib pickup at Erratzu square
• Oct 24, 06:00-07:30 – Bib pickup and bag drop
• 07:15 – Corralito opens
• 07:50 – Corralito closes
• 08:00 – Race start
• 18:00 – Cutoff and finish closure
