🚴 Estrela Road Challenge 2026

The Estrela Road Challenge 2026 is a demanding road running event held in Manteigas, Serra da Estrela, Portugal, on October 24-25, 2026. Organized by Estrela Outdoor Events in partnership with the Municipality of Manteigas, it features challenging courses that test endurance and strength amid spectacular mountain scenery.

The event offers three race formats: Uphill® 21 km with 1600 m positive elevation gain, Uphill + Downhill® 42 km with 3200 m total elevation change, and the 42 km Relay Team® race where two runners share the uphill and downhill segments. Open to athletes aged 18+, it requires good physical condition and mountain running experience.

The course runs on mountain roads inside the Serra da Estrela Natural Park, starting and finishing at iconic locations such as the Manteigas Municipality building and Torre (1993m altitude). The event promotes environmental and social responsibility, with solid and liquid aid stations (no disposable cups) and strict respect for nature.
