What are the registration desk hours?

The registration desk is open on April 23 and 24 from 10:30 to 19:00 at Decathlon Lisbon Oriente, and on April 25 from 7:30 to 8:45 at the start location for out-of-town athletes.

Registrations must be done online by April 18; no registrations are allowed on event day.

Where do the races take place?

The races take place in Lisbon, with starts and finishes at iconic locations such as Restauradores Square, Pontinha, Largo do Carmo, Marquês de Pombal, and Jardim do Príncipe Real.

What equipment is required?

Each athlete must wear the bib and chip provided by the organization; appropriate clothing and footwear for urban running are recommended.

🏃‍♂️ 47th Freedom Run Lisbon 2026

Celebrate freedom and the Carnation Revolution with this iconic race that blends sport and history in the heart of Lisbon!

The 47th edition takes place on April 25, 2026, organized by the Federation of Cultural, Recreational and Sports Associations of Lisbon District and the Association of Lisbon Municipal Associations. This popular event commemorates the 52nd anniversary of the Carnation Revolution, with starts and finishes at the iconic Restauradores Square.

There are four distinct routes suitable for all ages and fitness levels: from the timed 11 km race crossing several Lisbon neighborhoods, the 5 km race, the 1 km kids race, to the 2.5 km Freedom Walk open to all.

The routes run through urban settings, starting and finishing at landmarks such as Pontinha, Largo do Carmo, Marquês de Pombal Square, and Jardim do Príncipe Real. The organization provides water stations and medical support. Timing for the main race is done with RFID chip.
